OMS Cloud with AppStream Migration
All you need to know about our migration to AppStream.
What is happening?
We are migrating all users from the previous, Remote Desktop-based session to connect to OMS Cloud to AWS AppStream. Users will notice a different way of logging in, but the general usage of OMS will remain the same.
Remote Desktop login ("RDP file") will be retired on February 1, 2026.
Who is affected?
All OMS Cloud users. OMS systems installed on-premise, or installed on a company's own cloud system, are not affected.
Is my company on AppStream?
All companies who subscribe to OMS Cloud have an AppStream login available. Companies who were successfully onboarded before August 1, 2025 will have their legacy login as well as the AppStream login available to use.
What are the benefits of AppStream?
1. Smoother Access: Runs in your browser or AWS AppStream client app with minimal steps. Run on Windows, macOS, Chrome, Firefox, Safari--you name it, it will work.
2. Consistent Performance: Every user gets an optimized and dedicated environment. Apps load faster because they're optimized for streaming in the browser or client app.
3. Improved Stability: If connections drop, you can reconnect without starting over. Automatic scaling means our team can handle busy periods without hindering performance
4. Managed by Amazon Web Services (AWS): Your applications are subject to Amazon's enterprise level scalability and standards, ensuring one of the most secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructures in the world. AppStream is used by universities, government institutions, hospitals, and many other large enterprise deployments.
How do I start using AppStream?
Please view our user guide here, or feel free to contact our support team.
Once your company has successfully migrated or has committed to fully moving to AppStream, our team will configure your OMS system to fully utilize AppStream.
Will my printer work with AppStream?
All standard laser and inkjet printers continue to work automatically with AppStream with no additional setup or printer servers required.
We now officially support Zebra label printers through AppStream with minimal setup. Please see our list of supported models here.
Will I still be able to login with Remote Desktop after February 1, 2026?
No, our intention is to fully retire Remote Desktop connections at the cutoff date. To ensure a seamless transition, please begin using AppStream as soon as possible.
