When setting up with OMS Cloud, your printers need additional configuration to print directly from OMS.
This does not apply to on-premise installations of OMS.
As part of the set up process with OMS Cloud, your printers will need to be connected directly to OMS in order to print directly in OMS.
To do this, you will need to configure your printer as a network printer by connecting a print server to each printer that your company wants to use with OMS Cloud.
Please consult your IT Department or personnel for questions on how to obtain the information needed for our team. Master System can provided limited support on your internal network infrastructure, but cannot fully investigate issues on your network.
Configure Printers as Print Servers
Each printer must be connected to a print server. The print server we recommend is the IOGEAR 1-Port USB 2.0 Print Server, GPUS21.
- Once each printer is connected and configured on your network, your company will need to assign IP reservations (i.e. static IP) and port forwarding for each printer on your network.
- When forwarding ports, start with port 9100 and increase the port number for each printer connected.
- Once complete, you should have a printer configuration something similar to this:
Printer Model Port Number IP Reservation Printer 1 9100 192.168.1.123 Printer 2 9101 192.168.1.456 Printer 3 9102 192.168.1.678
- Once complete, you should have a printer configuration something similar to this:
-
After completion, please provide the OMS Cloud Team your printer configuration, ports, and internal IP addresses and our team will configure the OMS Cloud service with your printers.
Once complete, use a site such as Port Checker to test the ports.
You can follow the configuration with this flow chart.
