Learn how to connect your FedEx account to Pavo
Overview
Connect FedEx to Pavo to take advantage of rates, labels, and address validation in OMS and in Pavo.
These instructions use FedEx's REST API, which replace FedEx Web Services. FedEx Web Services is a SOAP-based API which deprecated on May 15, 2024.
Get Credentials for your Account
A client key and secret must be obtained from the FedEx Developer Portal.
- Go to the FedEx Developer Portal at https://developer.fedex.com
- Log in to your FedEx account using the credentials for your company. If you do not have a FedEx account, you can create an account there.
- Once logged in, go to "Manage Organization"
- Go to "Shipping accounts" and add your company's shipping account.
- Next, go to "My Projects" on the sidebar.
- Click "Create a project" and create a new project. When presented with the reason from FedEx, select "Ships with FedEx and is using a third-party software solution that has requested API Keys"
- When asked to provide information, fill in the following information:
- Third-Party Company: Master System, Inc.
- Third-Party Product: Pavo
- Third-Party Product Website: www.mastersystem.com
- Select "Ship, Rate & Other APIs"
- When asked which APIs to use, select Address Validation API, Postal Code Validation API, Rates and Transit Times API, and Ship API.
- Configure the project by filling in the country you plan on shipping to. Fill in "Pavo" for the Project name. Select the answers on whether you plan on using SmartPost Returns or Freight LTL and click "Continue".
- On the project summary, you will see a confirmation detail. The Project Name is randomly assigned, but will be the project name filled in Step 10 once confirmed. Check the boxes as needed and click "Create".
- Once created, you will be able to access your FedEx test keys. Copy and paste these keys in the testing keys configuration on Pavo Admin. Once you complete testing you will be able to move to production.
