Utilize FedEx's Economy Ground (formerly FedEx SmartPost) to save on shipping.
FedEx Economy Ground (formerly FedEx SmartPost) is a service offered by FedEx to provide cost-effective delivery of small packages, utilizing FedEx agents for package pickup and the US Postal Service (USPS) for last-mile delivery.
OMS/Pavo has support to ship using FedEx Economy Ground. Learn more about FedEx Economy Ground here.
To access FedEx Economy Ground, contact your FedEx Account Manager to start the agreement process.
Connect Pavo to FedEx Economy Ground
To connect to FedEx Economy Ground, you must have a FedEx account integrated with Pavo. Make sure this account is enabled for Economy Ground before connecting with Pavo.
You will need the following information from FedEx, in addition to your Account Information and Meter Number:
- FedEx SmartPost Hub ID
Configuring FedEx Economy Ground settings
Once you have a FedEx account linked with Pavo, you will be able to modify settings pertaining to FedEx Economy Ground. This includes the Hub ID (see next section), whether to include a tracking number, and instructions on undeliverable packages.
FedEx Hub ID
Your FedEx Hub ID is a numeric ID that corresponds to the nearest FedEx SmartPost processing hub closest to your shipping address. Pavo requires you enter a Hub ID in order to generate labels.

Package Dimensions
Remember the following Ground Economy limitations for package dimensions:
- Dimensions are required (length, width, height)
- Minimum dimensions are 6" (length) x 4" (width) x 1" (height)
- Maximum dimensions:
- Length, width, or height cannot exceed 60 inches
- For a package of less than 1 pound, the dimensions (L + 2W + 2H) cannot exceed 84 inches
- For a package of 1 pound or more, the dimensions (L + 2W + 2H) cannot exceed 130 inches
