UPS Authentication & API Changes before June 3, 2024

Take action on your UPS account with Pavo before June 3, 2024 to avoid interruptions.

UPS has implemented a more secure model to connect all third-party applications and services and will deprecate existing connections by June 3, 2024.

Pavo is affected by this change and has been updated to account for the new security model.

In order to continue using UPS's services with OMS and Pavo, you will need to re-authenticate your UPS account with Pavo.

If you do not take action before June 3, 2024, your UPS connection will be interrupted.

How do I know if my company is affected?

  • If your account was authenticated with Pavo after June 5, 2023, you are using the new UPS authentication system and will not need to take action.
  • On the Pavo Admin portal, go to Settings > Integrations > Shipping and check your UPS account. If your account has not authenticated with the new methods, Pavo will notify you to take action.

How do I use the new UPS Connection?

You will need to remove the existing UPS connection on Pavo, and add a new UPS connection. Pavo will use the new authentication flow when authenticating a new UPS account.

If your company uses Pavo to fetch labels in OMS, there is no action needed on OMS.

What changed in the UPS connection?

UPS now uses OAuth 2.0 for authentication and no longer issuing access keys. In addition, UPS also updated its documentation and API to allow for a more flexible pattern and more in-line with industry standard practices. Pavo's previous connection to UPS used the access keys, which UPS now refers to as "Legacy SOAP API".
